I am an independent consultant older adults’ psychiatrist working for East London Foundation NHS Trust. I have worked in independent sector in my previous role. I have been recently awarded the fellowship of the International Institute of Organisational Psychological Medicine and applying to be fellow of the College this coming year. I am a life member of BIPA and have been executive committee member for three terms and have recently taken up the role of treasurer. I am keen to work with stakeholders to raise the profile of BIPA and develop and nurture potential donors over the coming years. The constant stream of income is a key element of carrying out the aims and objectives of any organisation and I hope to hand over a decent balance sheet to my successor.
I take interest in supporting medical graduates and trainees in different stages and grades in any specialty and the current focus is on supporting our colleagues in Psychiatry. I am trained clinical and educational supervisor and clinical educator for Buckingham Medical School.
I live with my wife Dr Poonam Kapila in Milton Keynes having worked in East Midlands for more than a decade. I have a son in the university and a daughter in a local high school.
