Dr Nita Agarwal

Hello! I am Nita Agarwal, a child and adolescent consultant psychiatrist working in Suffolk. I moved to the UK in Oct 2004, after completing my MBBS in India, and since then I haven’t looked back. It has been a memorable journey which I am proud of and is totally worthy.
I have been working as a consultant since 2018. Besides clinical roles, I have taken up non-clinical leading roles in my trust including LTFT champion, MSC chair, policy development and so on. Currently, I am named safeguarding doctor for children in Suffolk in our trust. Outside the trust, I have continued to be an EC member of RCPsych Eastern division. I have provided my input as our divisional newsletter editor and currently have a role of Wellbeing Champion.
In 2018, I was introduced to BIPA and have continued to take part in BIPA activities. I was an EC member from 2022 to 2024. And due to BIPA’s values, commitment to support others, and their commitment to contributing to the community focusing in the area of mental health services and mental well-being, I am back again as an EC for the next couple of years. For me, the most important values are respect, kindness, being human first and valuing every individual person. I am passionate about self care and wellbeing and hope to continue to contribute in this area. I would love to see we as a BIPA family continue to flourish involving each and every one of our BIPA members.
